Stunning New Photography Book Captures the Western Pennsylvania Region's Spectacular Railroads and SceneryPittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) June 4, 2008 -- Railroad Vistas: The Rail Landscape of Western Pennsylvania, a photography book by Paul Roth, brings a new appreciation of the region's spectacular geographical features, using the railroads as a focus.
Author Paul Roth, a lifelong railroad aficionado, brings his familiarity and fascination with western Pennsylvania's railroads and adjoining scenery to a beautiful book of his photographs and commentary, Railroad Vistas: The Rail Landscape of Western Pennsylvania. Each color photograph captures the breathtaking beauty of such lines as the Norfolk Southern, CSX and their predecessors, plus various regional and industrial lines.
Filled with photos taken over the last 20 years, the book also includes historical pictures from the 1960s and 1970s. Because western Pennsylvania boasts many captivating rivers, bridges are also pictured. Each photo is accompanied with text describing the geography and a brief description of the railroad route, as it traverses a variety of urban, rural and industrial scenery, landmarks and bridges.
This is a wonderful book for anyone interested in railroads, western Pennsylvania or the wonders of technology. As an added bonus, it also includes a new map of the region's railroads.
